The HOME Project engages community members by hosting a Community Engagement Day
Athens, November 14, 2017 – The HOME Project hosted a Community Engagement Day on November 5, 2017. Together the staff, volunteers and community members came together to create a safe, uplifting and beautiful environment for the children at The HOME Project. Activities included gardening, painting an outdoor mural and a unique opportunity to bring together members of the community to support The HOME Project in their efforts to provide safety and sanctuary for unaccompanied refugee children. The event ended with all volunteers enjoying a meal together, games with the children and community discussion.
“I left the Home Project with a big smile on my face. This lovely experience made me realize that we rise by lifting others.”
Vasia Liakou, Social Responsibility Intern – Libra Social Programs, Winter 2018
“I felt like we were all part of the same family. We talked, played and laughed all together. Home Project proves that alone we can do so little but together we can do so much!”
Ria Papadopoulou, Communications Intern – Concordia Summit, Winter 2018
