Seleni Trains HOME Project Staff on Mental Health

Athens, January 5, 2018 – Dr. Hara Ntalla, Clinical Director of the Seleni Institute visited Athens to train The HOME Project (HP)  staff and help them build capacity to support the adolescents in shelters who have experienced trauma. HP staff who works on the ground absorbs most of the energy and emotion that the children have experienced, so they need to be supported and protected as well.

The Seleni Institute is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the emotional health of individuals and families during the family-building years to improve the lives of our generation and future generations. With our partners, we treat, train, support, advocate, and provide research funding. The organization was founded in 2011 to destigmatize and transform mental health and wellness

The HOME Project is a nonprofit organization set up to address the needs of refugees and refugee children in particular who have arrived in Greece alone. Through its programs it looks to provide relief from suffering to all those affected by the crisis and to give hope out of despair.
